In Clovis, 23.4% of residents have an income below the poverty line, and the child poverty rate is 33.9%. On a per-household basis, 20.2% of families are below the poverty line in Clovis.

A study by the Apsen Institute in 2020 showed that kids living in poverty are 6 times more likely to quit sports due to financial reasons than their peers.

“Every kid should have a chance to sit at a piano, to play soccer, to learn to swim or do Taekwondo. Money should never be the reason our children miss out. Let’s make Clovis a place where all kids have access to these opportunities.”
